Dual-circuit portafilter machines for making espresso and milk foam in a single step
A dual-circuit machine has a boiler that houses a heat exchanger. The boiler itself holds steam and hot water, while the fresh brewing water flows through the heat exchanger on its way to the brew group, reaching brewing temperature in the process. This allows you to brew espresso and froth milk at the same time without having to wait for the machine to switch modes. Most models use the E61 brew group, which maintains a stable temperature via the thermosiphon.
Dual-circuit machines have been the classic choice among home portafilter machines for decades because they make both espresso and cappuccino equally well while remaining durable and easy to maintain. Among the most popular machines in our lineup are the Rocket Appartamento, the Quick Mill Naz, and the ECM Mechanika. You can further narrow your selection by price or brand using the filter.
